About

The platform for registration of individual, company, and multiparty patents, copyrights, and trademarks. The platform integrates with the UAE Pass - National Digital Identity for user verification and enables direct appeals to the Ministry of Economy.

Challenges

The stakeholders successfully launched a similar product in Central Asia. The task was to replicate the same product for the Emirates market.

Discovery

Cultural comparison. As this is my first project for representatives of Emirati culture, I decided to explore how different it is from what I'm used to.

I found that Arabs have a greater appreciation of partnerships and the authority of the CEO is unquestioned. So I set up polite message templates that the system suggested to attach when sending a document to a partner.

These and other differences helped me to negotiate with stakeholders and emphasise the risks of 'repeating' the product without taking the new market into account.

Competitor analysis. I compared the tone of international brands in the UAE market, Arab brands and UAE brands. I found that they rarely use the directive address 'you' in promotional materials. But they do use it when addressing authorised users.

CJM

I designed the authorisation CJM and the the multiparty signature CJM. Based on these CJMs, we received approval to integrate with the government's verification system UAE Pass.

Personas

for user story creation, prioritisation, and strategy

After creating the personas, we changed the POC development plan from Arabic to English. Because the frequent user will be an assistant to a CEO. They are not very good at Arabic. English is also the language of document management in the UAE and Arabs are very good in English.

Select a design library

To create invoices, users will need to work with the table. To customise the contract template, they will need to edit the text. Therefore, when choosing a library, I checked the flexibility of these components.
